Random Student NameRandom Student Name is a tool for randomly selecting students from your class. It will select in an unbiased fashion and without repetition until all members have been selected. Typically Random Student Name is used for deciding 'who will answer the next question', or for dividing your class into random pairs or teams for group work. At the beginning of the school year teachers can set their class list (up to 32 students). Random student name is easy to edit when students need to be added or taken from your class list. It is also easy to temporarily omit a student from the list in the case of students which may be absent on a particular day. This is one of many creative interactive activities available from John Short's wonderful website:

It can sometimes be noisy but it is always fun. Word-wise is an easy-to-edit PowerPoint file consisting of a cover sheet, instructions, some examples and a master sheet. This is one of many creative interactive activities available from John Short's wonderful website: Memory SquaresIt's the old memory cards game but now a team game for IWB.
