## Fifteen Mathematical Starter Questions

Fifteen excellent Maths activities for the ActivBoard. Most can be edited and hence can be used for different age groups or used repeatedly with the same class by altering the questions. Three thumbs up!

## Square It

Players take it in turns to choose on any of the given dots. The first player makes the chosen dots red and the second player or computer makes the chosen dots green. The winner is the first to have four dots of their colour that can be joined by straight lines to form a square. Squares can be any size and can be tilted. Is there a winning strategy?

## Random Name Picker

Click on Edit and paste in a list of student names or words.
Click on either 'Typewriter' or 'Fruit Machine' to have the program randomly select from the list. A neat bit of programming. With the Fruit Machine, you can remove the names once they are chosen.

## Less Homework or More Homework?

I was just experimenting with some effects in ActivStudio Version 3. Just a bit of a giggle.

## Magic Magnifying Glass

The Magic Magnifying Glass can be used to reveal hidden words and pictures.

## On-Line Equation Editor

For those who don't have either Equation Editor or MathType at hand, here is a free on-line equation editor. I had a play with it, and it seems to be very good:
